Principles of blooming where you are planted.
To bloom means to produce in the case of a plant, flowers or fruit. As such, could be said to be in flower. Other synonyms are to blossom, to come in to flower, that is fruition or to sprout to mature and to bud. As women and people of faith who are determined to produce our dreams and live our best lives now. We must recognise that for us to bloom and flourish there are some principles that cannot be overlooked. The first one is this:
• There must always be a planting. In other words you must be engaged in a certain activity perhaps a business, a career goal, a dream that you desire to progress and achieve. In this stage often times we find ourselves in a dark place. However, if you do there’s great news for you because if in a dark place where things appear to be stagnant and you think you are buried and forgotten 2 perhaps you are being planted. The planting season for every dream for every goal is super crucial. This is because for a seed to grow you need to be buried in the soil.
As people of faith, we cannot afford to go through the motions we must be intentional even when we are going through a dark patch. In the season of the dark patch one of the things we must do is to find pleasure in the Lord. This is a proven way to accelerate your growth. You see psalm 37:4 puts it this way: "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart". Psalm 37:4 AMPC.
• In other to bloom where you are planted it is also important that you stay filled with Joy no matter what. Note that you might be unhappy but you can still be filled with joy even if you are unhappy with your situation this is because Joy is a fruit of the spirit. The bible teaches us in Isaiah 12:3(CEV) that "with great Joy you people will get water from the well of victory".
A typical example was Joseph in the bible he had a dream but it came with seemingly insurmountable challenges we see as we read his biography in the bible he was never bitter he never lost his joy even in prison he was a great help to many though his situation humanly speaking at the beginning was despicable. But God made all things work together for his good. As we study the attitude of joseph there’s a lot to learn from his planting season. Even in his dark days he was a great light and help to many because he never lost his joy. See Genesis chapter 37 _50. His life reminds me of this scripture Psalm 84:6 "As they pass through the valley of weeping it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings".
As we pursue our dreams and goals in life the valley of weeping is something we can all identify with. While times of sorrow are a certainty in life, the Valley of weeping is not a place where we are to linger. It is not a place where we should establish residence. It is pertinent we note that It is a place that we are to pass through. I love the passion translation of Psalm 84:6_7: 4 “Even when their paths wind through the dark valley of tears, they dig deep to find a pleasant pool where others find only pain . He gives to them a brook of blessing filled from the rain of an outpouring. They grow stronger and stronger with every step forward, and the God of all gods will appear before them in Zion” Jeremiah 29:11 is a wonderful scripture where the lord tells us this: “ For I know the plans I have for you declares the lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a future”.
However, earlier on from verse one of Jeremiah 29 I learnt that the children of Israel were in a dark place but the lord expected them to still produce and not be stagnated by the fact they were in slavery. It shows that as women of faith same principle can be applied we are unstoppable even by challenges in life.
• Another principle to be mindful of is the fact that in consistency lies your power. No matter what life throws at you. You must focus on your focus. Be faithful to work your dream. The bible teaches us not to remove the ancient landmarks. Don’t change your dreams to suit your circumstances allow your circumstances to catch up with where you are going. Proverbs 22:28_29. In consistency lies the power.
Stay faithful in what you have been called to do no matter what and see wonderful results despite challenges . In Ecclesiastes 10:4 a the bible teaches this Eccl 10:4a(kjv).” When the spirit of a ruler rises against thee leave not thy place ”. Psalm 110: 2. Charges us to rule in the midst of our enemies. In the midst of whatever challenges that oppose your dreams. You are meant to take charge and produce the required results.
• Lastly, for one to bloom where there are planted it is important that you acknowledge God in all your ways and learn to practice the presence of God. See these verses Proverbs 3:5_6, Colossians 3:23. As I close I close with this scripture Acts 17:28: "For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring". To live in Him is paramount if we want to increase in our ability to flourish where we are planted.
